Bees like attack 25/07/09

Just now around 9, after the show on 'Ai' taiwanese show, we notice there is a 'bee' flying around our living room false ceiling light. Eugene tried to chase it away or hit it but fail to do so as it is flying wildly. We have to resort to our killer weapon; the powerful and invincible pesticides.

We thought that it is just one and tats all, we then realise that there is a few appearing in the study room and master room too... after the battle, our house now smells like pesticide. We then notice actually there is a dozen outside the window sill trying to get in... immediately we close all the windows and use tape to tape the corners of the window as some try to squeeze in. We decided to call the town council hotline for help.

Now waiting for the pest control to come and we are breathing in the pesticide...... no fresh air somemore....

The korea Resturant 27/06/09

We had a farewell dinner for Raymond from IBM. They booked a private room at a Korean Resturant called Mana at Raffles Place area. Quite nice place and first time trying the spicy rice cakes. It is chewy and tasty.

I tried to feed Eugene with the lettuce roll with bbq chicken. Unfortunately, I had it too big for him. He dint swallow all at once. After that, we went together with his colleagues to watch Transformer the revenge of the fallen at Tiong Bahru GV. Thumbs up.

My favourite spot in our house...

Sitting on my favourite spot in the living room on the sofa side watching sunrise or sunset.
One of the main reasons that we buy this house is the unblocked view of the sky and vast forestry. I love to sit on the spot and eat my breakfast.... looking at the nice sunrise and breathing the fresh morning air.

Sunset will be having Gene by my side and admiring the colourful radiant clouds as the sun sets behind the clouds. It is hard to find such a great view given that we are now living in a concrete jungle.

Well-trained hubby

My dearest baby ironing his own clothes..... usually every 2-3 weeks.

Simply love my baby as he is very well-trained. He irons his own clothes and helps out with most of the household chores. Takes the initiative to wash the dishes after meals... this causes many female frens to glee with envy that I have such a good hubby. I guess most of the guys will procrastinate in doing household chores and avoid if possible eg my Brother.

I am so lucky to have him. Thanks baby for helping to catch all the insects and reducing my burden.

Pasir Ris Park

Eugene and I enjoy going to the Pasir Ris Park for a jog or cycle. There is a self-proclaimed Changi Nasi Lemak stall. Have to cycle a distance into the park to get there. It is a very traditional small shop that is beside HOME TEAM Chalet. It sells only a few variety of food. It is run by a middle-aged couple. There is little business as the place is very wulu. I wonder how they survive but admire the simple life that they seemed to be blissfully living. It makes me feel that life can be very contented if we can spend more time with our love ones rather than making lots and lots of money. Anyway, Me and Eugene decided to try the Nasi lemak.



At about $3, it has a chicken wing, fish cutlet and omelette. Without queueing, we get to eat a Nasi Lemak that tastes similar to the Changi Village Nasi Lemak. With a full and satisfied stomach, we will then cycle back to the Sun Plaza Park.





If we do jogging which is usually in the evening, we will drive to a Zi Cha near Elias Mall.... Amist of all the recent food price hike, we managed to find a Hor Fun that costs only $3 and still retain the traditional ingredients (generous serving of fresh prawns, vegetables, lean meat and sotong). It tastes delicious with a subtle burnt taste. Its Sheng Mee and Yi Mee are nice too.

Next time round, we are going kite flying as Dear just bought me a nice kite from Chinatown. Looking forward to it... :D

Adapting to a new environment - Tampines

After marriage, one of the sacrifices that I had to make is adapting to a new school and neighbourhood..... the thought of staying so far away from my parents makes me feels sad at times. Do not feel like talking about my new school as it is heart-breaking and not worth talking about in the first place.

Tampines though far from my usual hangouts (towns, anchorpoint and tiong bahru....)with friends, it has some interesting insights.

A 1-2 minutes walk, I reach my favourite bubble tea and smoothie shop.... Green Apple dessert.com. It is a small green shop at Blk 406. It sells nice and cheap smoothie, bubble tea, finger food, ice-desserts, crepes and so on. What I like best is that they use real fruits for the smoothie instead of sugar colouring. It is only $2 with pearls or jelly of your choice. Collect 10 stamps and get a drink on the house.... Managed to get one free drink so far.... on my way to complete the second coupon. Not to forget the friendly and nice auntie. I quite admire her passion and love for the shop as she opens everyday (rest on alternate Monday only) 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and self-managed the shop on her own most of the time. Very hardworking.

I have decided for the next long vacation Dec, I will explore Tampines and get to know the neighbourhood better and post them on this blog.... anyway this is our first neighbourhood together and maybe the last too :D
